Synopsis

Today marks two years since Hamas attacked Israel, killing more than 1,000 people and taking over 200 hostages. Kibbutz Be'eri, near the Gaza border, was among the hardest hit, losing 102 of its members that day. Two years on, few have returned, but the community hasn't given up. DW spoke with survivor Amit Salvi, who is now helping lead the rebuilding effort.
